Featured Layout from Vicky Day’s Gallery

Hello Digitals fans!  Today we are going to take a closer look at a wonderful layout from Vicky Day’s gallery.  This is called On My Way by the51mom, and it uses Vicky’s kit called First Birthday:

Wow, somebody catch that boy before he crawls out of that page!  That’s the first thing to catch the eye, this wonderful out-of-bounds extraction that the51mom has used here.  I love how she framed the striped background paper and how it contrasts against the main background paper.  What a color explosion this layout is!  The bold and bright color palette that Vicky has chosen is the theme for one of the best birthday kits I’ve seen – and even though it’s titled First Birthday, you could use it for any fun birthday layouts.  See how the51mom put that one candle on the cupcake?  I had the idea of reducing the candles and putting more on there, maybe 18 for my daughter’s upcoming birthday.  Every single element and paper in this kit work together to create wonderful birthday memories like On My Way.  I vote you add this to your stash right away!  The layout preview is linked if you want to leave some love in the gallery.

Featured Layout from Sarah Meyer’s Gallery

Good morning, hope it’s the start of a fabulous week for you!  Today I found a really cute layout in Sarah Meyer’s gallery to share with you.  It was created using Sarah’s kit called Me And My BFF by Yvonne55 and is called Let’s Play:

I really like this layout a lot!  I like the main pink background paper, and especially when she’s used 3 cutout circles from other patterned paper to highlight.  I like the elements and how they have been used – by the way Yvonne has created small clusters all around the pictures, they draw my eye right in to the photos.  And those photos are absolutely adorable!  I was looking at the one of the little guy and thinking that in a year’s time he will be all over those park animals!  The layout is linked if you want to leave her some love!  If you buy the page kit, you save money and there’s an alpha included with it too.

You can get Sarah’s Me And My BFF here (preview is linked).

Featured Layout from Paula Yagisawa’s Gallery

Hi scrapping friends!  It’s Friday, yay, scrapping time, right?  Hope you get some scrapping time for sure!  Today we are going to see a layout from Paula Yagisawa’s gallery that was created using her Wistful Nostalgia products.  The layout is by bunnyfreak and it’s called March 4th, 2012:

Such a beautiful layout, right? And it’s fun to get to know about the dinner they shared.  Looks like so much work has gone into this layout, it’s really striking, I think.  And you know what?  This was done entirely with two of the edge clusters that are part of her Wistful Nostalgia products – so it’s almost an instant layout!  There are a total of four of those clusters available. Now how can you turn that down?

You can see Paula’s Wistful Nostalgia products here (preview linked):

Featured Layout from Nini’s Notions’ Gallery

Good morning!  Today our layout comes from the beautiful gallery of Nini’s Notions – or Sharon, as we know and love her around here.  I’m actually tooting my own horn a bit with a layout I did with Sharon’s Nostalgia products from the March CAKE event.  The layout is called Granny Steele in June:

Sharon’s Nostalgia products are absolutely gorgeous all the way through.  But I wanted to highlight the date frames that she has included – this incredibly beautiful and intricate frame is available for every month, in different colors and using different flourishes.  These frames are so gorgeous that I really think if you pick out a pretty paper and use the month frame with  your photo, you have a fantastic layout right there.  I just dressed it up a bit more by layering the papers and putting the flower in the bottom corner – but the thing I love best is the picture with the month frame (did you figure that out yet? LOL!).

Day 12 Daily Download and Dearest Mother

Featured Designer May 2012

Be sure to grab today’s FREE Daily Download that continues through the 11th!

For those who have missed some or all of the FREE Daily Downloads since April 28th, I also have the kit, “Bee a Blessing” in the store. It is 30% off during my Featured Designer spot through May 11th. You can click on the preview to grab it.

Since we will be celebrating Mother’s Day this Sunday, I thought I would share my kit I created for mom, “For There’s No Other.”  We all have a special someone, even if she wasn’t our biological mother, who we consider and cherish as Mom!  My mom went on home to heaven to be with her Lord back in 2005, so I miss being able to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day and I wish I had told her, “I love you” more often than I did.  I wish I had thanked her for being so strict on us as kids growing up!  The Lord knew I needed that for sure!  If your mom is still alive, be sure and tell her how much you love and appreciate her!
The previews are linked to the store and you can get these at 30% off for 2 more days as my Featured Designer slot will end Saturday.  Normally, the bundles are 30% off, but if you don’t want the entire bundle, now you can get the other items for 30% off!
The alpha is really pretty generic, so you could actually use it for other things, too!  The quick page album would be a great purchase to get some pages done quickly!
Here’s a page I did in honor of my dearest mother.  This photo was taken back in early 1957.  I had turned a year old in October 1956.  It is linked to the gallery if you would like to share a comment.
Thanks for stopping by Today!  Remember to Bee a Blessing to someone today!

Featured Layout from Michelle Pieters’ Gallery

Good morning!  Today we are going to see a darling layout from Michelle Pieters’ gallery.  This layout was done by Michelle herself, using her kit called A Little Miracle, and it’s called Precious:

The title of this layout says it all.  This little boy is indeed precious, both in looks and in how much he is loved in his new family.  I have no doubt that Michelle created this kit with him in mind, and it is just perfect for this picture.  This is one of several pieces of word art included in the kit, and there are colors that work as well for girls as for boys.  The layout is linked to her gallery if you’d like to leave her some love!

Day 11 of 14 – Happy Anniversary to Me!

Featured Designer May 2012

Happy Tuesday to Everyone!  Today marks 36 years of marriage blessings for me and my dear hubby.  We actually became “an item” on March 13, 1971, so we’ve been together for more than 41 years!  Yep, high school sweethearts we were!  We graduated from Conner Sr. High in Hebron, KY on June 3, 1973.  Tim headed off to college in the fall to University of Louisville.  He tried to come home every couple of weeks, but it was via bus, so the funds were not always there.  When I was working I would send him money to PLEASE COME HOME!!!  :D   Finally, the big day arrived!  May 8, 1976.  It was a Saturday after he finished his semester on Friday, May 7th.

Here’s a layout I did for the “Let’s Talk About” challenge at Digitals.  The kit was a blog freebie from Diana Burton back in 2009.  Look how young we were!  :D

Here’s a page I did for a challenge using an old, old Digitals Team Collab kit, Angels Among Us, back in 2009, too, I believe.  My, my!  Look at those senior pictures!  Can I just say that Tim’s dad was NOT a barber by profession!  :D

Fast forward to today.  We are 36 years older and (hopefully) wiser!  I know for sure we are enriched with 36 years of blessings!  This picture was taken at our son’s house in Maryland when we went there to enjoy one of our blessings of being grandparents with Kara at a special Grandparents Day at her school.

I pray I have many, MANY more blessed years with this man God gave me all those years ago!  In thinking of blessings today, I used my featured kit, “Bee a Blessing” to do this page with.  Feel free to click on the link to leave me some love in the gallery at Digitals.

Featured Layout from Katie Mann’s Gallery

Good morning!  Did you all have a terrific interNational Scrapbook Day/weekend?  I sure did, now I just need to get busy scrapping with all my purchases!

There are some wonderful entries in Katie Mann’s gallery.  Let’s look at one called Fun in Florida, by Sparky 4, using Katie’s Austin kit:

Katie’s color palette for this kit is so bright and cheerful!  I love the background papers she chose – the colored strip on the right is actually just a thin line of one of the background papers.  The alpha in this kit is especially great, and it looks great on Sparky4′s title, it really stands out.  Her journaling is wonderful – I can only imagine a storm at sea, how that might have been pretty scary!

Featured Layout from Joyce de Jonge’s Gallery

Good morning, and Happy Friday of iNSD weekend!  I hope you are already shopping here at Digitals and playing the fun games, and seeing what other things might be out there this weekend – I get giddy as a 2-year-old for this weekend!

And since I’m giddy, I can say – you know what, I LOVE this Featured Layout blog posting job!  I get to peruse every designer’s gallery, see all the magical layouts that have been created, hopefully make a decision on which one I want to feature within some reasonable time frame, and then come here and share it with you – I love it!!!  So today I went walking in Joyce de Jonge’s gallery, and found this adorable layout using her Captured Moments kit.  It is by Joyce herself, and it’s called Hello, this is Myrthe:

I’ve known more than one designer who says they can’t scrap with their own products, but that is NOT true for Joyce!  If I’m not mistaken, the adorable child in this picture is her granddaughter, and I’m sure she’s a favorite scrapping subject for her.  The basis for this layout is the picture clipped to a wonderful photo mask that comes in the kit – I just love the way she’s captured purple, pink and orange in the swirl to bring out the colors in the picture.  Then she brought in dimension by layering over the glitter swirl and flowers on the left side of the picture.  And how about her cluster, so pretty – the kit is filled with flowers and hearts, and that pretty little butterfly you see here.  There is also some word art, one of which she used here on the layout.  What a lovely layout about Myrthe!  This reminds  me of a Facebook post I saw recently, went something like “no matter how big and bad and tough you think you are, when a toddler hands you the toy telephone, you say HELLO!”

The layout is linked if you’d like to go to the gallery and leave Joyce some love!
