Great bonus! My son told me recently that I need to start writing down where our family heirlooms came from and the stories behind them. This would be a start on that.

This was a different and fun challenge, and I agree with Katy and Wilma who mentioned the need to document heirlooms for future generations. Right now a lot of the family members who will be on the receiving end of heirlooms in the future have lots of other things on their minds that are much more important to them than 'old stuff.' But never mind - wisdom will come with age.
