I have two great school stories and they are both about
the same sister. My sister, Nan hated school when she was
a little girl. My mother used to have to litterally drag her
to school kicking and screaming. As soon as they got
out of the house, Nan would grab hold of the cast iron
fence and start crying and screaming and my Mom
would have to pry her from the gate. This would go on
all the way to school. Good thing the school was right
across the street.
The next story is a High School story. Back in the day,
the schools did everything by hand with pen and ink
and that included the report cards that had to be
signed by the student’s parents. Nan got a 41 in
one of her classes, and as we all know, 41 is not a good
grade. Whenever a student failed for the quarter, the
teachers wrote the grade in RED ink. My sister got the
clever idea that if she carefully altered the four, she
could turn it into a nine. And, so she did. Imagine
Mom’s surprise when she saw that ninety-one. Nan
had a lot of trouble explaining why the ninety-one
was the only grade in RED. BUSTED!!!!! Nan has
never lived that story down.
Great stories - made me laugh! Love your collaged layout!
