I made this layout a few weeks ago. It will be one in a series about the 7.1 earthquake and the more than 2300 aftershocks we have endured since.

The journaling reads...

Locked in a moment of time, our city has been frozen in “quake time” and it will continue to be so for some time. We have been rocked by earthquakes since that terrifying morning over 6 weeks ago. They boarded up this clock tower to stop it falling over in further aftershocks and will only restart it when the aftershocks subside. Our whole city will be glad for that day. Each day we wonder when the earth will violently move again, and by how much. We wonder what else will be destroyed, and our nerves are frayed and the stress levels are high.

This was a life changing moment for hundreds of thousands of people. Our lives will never be the same again. Never again will we fully trust the earth to stay still.
