Just hours after the initial 7.1 earthquake we ventured out onto the streets to check on family and to see what had been destroyed in our city. This van belonged to the Christchurch Chinese Methodist Church and it was totally destroyed beyond repair. Thankfully nobody had been in the van or the church at the time the ground shook.
It was one of many haunting sights we have seen over the last 8 weeks. Sights that are burned into our memories.

What a picture. The whole thing must have been terrifying. I really like the crumpled, torn paper you used for journaling - so creative for this particular topic.
