journal: The rest of the family had plans for the afternoon, so George and I found a trail map at the community center and went for a long walk. Notice that George is dressed warmly for Florida. Even in the mid-day sunshine, the temperature was barely into the 60s. We bushwhacked through the scrub to a rickety dock for a picnic. An osprey kept an eye on us from a tree across the canal, and a heron stalked in the shallows nearby.
