Text reads: With permission from Elrond, I would settle west of the Mountains in the secret fair valley of Rivendell. I would build my small cottage just over the bridge, alongside the swiftly flowing rocky mountain stream, in the midst of the beech and the oak trees. I would sleep with the windows open to smell the wood fires and the pine, and hear the elves singing me to sleep.
I would live very simply just enjoying the time for sitting and thinking, singing, and storytelling - things that are too often missed in this fast paced world we live in now.
What a wonderful dream to keep in mind as I care for one sick grandchild and dress another, answer the phone, cook dinner, prepare to do my taxes, schedule appointments, etc.
Busy, yes, and it is nice to fantasize about a simpler life, but I wouldn’t trade life with my family for any other life, either in this world, or in the world of dwarves, elves, hobbits, and wizards.
