journaling:
I was starting my second year of college when Tess came to interview for a job in my department. I helped train her and the first night we found we had many things in common. She and I were both enthusiastic and adventurous, and we both loved our jobs. As our college years went by we grew constantly closer, spending vacations together and sharing an off-campus apartment.
Tess actually graduated before me, as I got a second major. She helped me get a job at the company she worked for, and we worked together again for several years. Then the big split occurred! She moved to England with her fiance! I was devastated, though it was fun to visit them when they got married. It wasn’t long until they moved back “home”, and we have lived in the same town every since. We didn’t really plan it, but our kids are the same ages and are best of friends as well! We have many happy memories, and truly are kindred spirits!
