We are so lucky to have in our area a plastic recycle plant. We took the brownies to see what can be done with waste recycling. The plastic is gathered from the community into a large sorting bin, or from further afield in flattened bales which the fork lift moves to the sorting bin. After all none usable plastic is sorted by hand it is taken via conveyer belts to various bins and crushers which end up in huge vats where the crushed plastic is melted and forced through molds to form boards. It is then cooled and placed on large racks to completely cool and await transport to retail, to be used for such things as fencing which is almost maintenance free. They make several colors and it can be painted to match any outside decor. What a fantastic way to use something that may otherwise hit the landfills. The brownies had fun putting the recycle everyone brought into the bin.
