Journaling: When 12 year old Nathan Chen, who had won the Novice title for the last two years, moved up to Juniors, I wondered who would replace him. Now I know. 11 year old Vincent Zhou from Palo Alto CA, skating his short program to “Nut Rocker” and his free program to “Iron Monkey-Rising Sun”, bested his nearest competition by 25 points to easily win the Novice Men’s title at the 2012 National Figure Skating Championships.
