Lilies of the Valley grew abundantly under the row of cedar trees that separated our backyard from the hundreds of miles of Adirondack mountain wilderness. As a child, I loved lying there in the shade, watching the fairies flit off with the delicate white bells to join with the sprites making music with their flutes. A wonderful way to spend a magical summer day.
