Journalling reads:
You stole my camera. You stole my husband's IPod.
My little sister had just flown in to see our newborn
baby daughter... We had a rough evening and forgot
to lock our truck. We forgot to bring our valuables
inside our house. In our focussing on our daughter,
we wer neglectful. You took advantage of that.
We didn't notice our missing electronics until the next
morning. I pleaded on the radio and in the newspaper.
You eventually brought them back, and for that,
WE THANK YOU.
However, you have changed us forevermore.
We are constantly looking over our shoulders.
We are constantly double and triple checking our locks.
and although you may have thought you deleted all the photos on that camera, I recovered two pictures of YOU.
inside the bookplate is "Thou shalt not steal."
On the file folder is "the case ot the Stolen Electronsics $800"
these kids were never caught; both camera and Ipod showed up on our porch a couple weeks after they were stolen, but the incident has forever changed how I go about locking up at night. The ribbons and bookplate is from an Americana kit... The folder is from Angela Young's Christmas Magic Sampler, and the arrow and paperclip are from Denise Liemert's Officum Sampler.

what an ineresting topic for a layout ... a great way to get a point across though. and a perfect way to share the memory with your daughter...glad you got your stuff back, most people aren't that lucky.
I know - we were lucky! But it still haunts me... And it's not like we live in a bad part of town or anything and there's been alot of recent vandalism; so I still wonder if that's the kids that stole our stuff... I did this page for the scraplift challenge, and it's still fresh in my mind, and I know there's misspellings on this page, but it's one I plan to re-do a few more months down the road, when I'm not still so angry about the violation... I dunno...

Wow..definately a different topic to scrap but liek the other's said, it's a part of your life...a memory you won't long forget. People are brave. someone went into DBF's truck and took his checkbook from inside the console. We didn't know until a neighbor around the corner called to say he found it on his lawn! Thank goodness you got them back...
