Journaling: (excerpt: letter from my Mom to her family)
She is the roundest, pudgiest little thing. Hamilton says she looks like me – and it does seem she reminds me of that fat baby picture of mine, which he remembers too. I was a much smaller baby, though, wasn’t I? She was an instrument baby -- You probably guessed from her size. Doc really was careful, though – she only had one small bruise beside her eye, and it’s already gone. She had a perfectly round head, right from the beginning. That surprised me, when it was such a big head, I kind of expected it to be squashed in a little.
(came home Friday noon)
Sunday – I thought I’d get this finished long ago. Anyway, we’re at home now, with our little sleepy-head. Stephanie is such a good girl – almost too good. When it’s been five or six hours since a feeding, and we’ve heard nothing from our little one, we have to look in and make sure she’s still alive. Yes, she’s really a lazy little thing, but when she wakes up, she wants to eat right now. And then she doesn’t care to go back to sleep when she should, especially if it’s in the middle of the night.
Hamilton is sure the proud papa. You should have seen him when he came to bring us home – all dolled up in his best bib & tucker.
