I needed a change from doing layouts about my kids so this is something different for me. We bought our house 2 years ago and lately I've been frustrated at the never ending list of repairs that need to be made. I did this page almost as therapy to remind me of what drew me to this house in the first place. The font is pretty small so I'll paste the journaling in here:
It’s kind of strange how this worked out. I remember when I was still in high school I would walk or drive by this house and think, man...I’d love to live there someday. And now I do! I never dreamt that this is where I would raise my family. Buying a house as old as this one has it draw backs though. There is a lot of work to still be done inside. Luckily I have a talented husband who is able to make the repairs. This house was duplexed for several years and some of the evidence of it still shows. We’re working to restore it as closely as possible back to it’s original layout. There is a sense of pride that comes with owning a historic house like this. I hope that someday, when it’s finished, we will be able to sick back and enjoy it’s beauty.
The small blocks of journaling by the little pictures read:
I love all the carved woodwork and wrought iron decorations on the roofs.
And:
All these little accent pieces are what drew me to this house years ago.
I used the Winery kit designed by Traci Reed and adjusted the colors to fit my pictures. TFL!
I love this layout. My husband and I just bought our house last year so I totally understand the neverending list. I also know that working at those tasks makes this "our" home.

What a dream come true! Memories of home are just as important to scrap and you did a really good job. I like the way you layered the detail photos-adds interest!

What a wonderful house. You've tackled a layout about something other than your family with flair. I love this layout.
