I had just turned 39 when I took this picture of myself. I was beginning to feel that motherhood & housewife were taking ME over. My husband didn’t look at me with THAT LOOK anymore making me feel more like a maid and a secretary than a lover or girlfriend or wife, which is probably normal after a few years of marriage. I felt as if the light that burned inside of me; my spark, my passion & my fire were being extinguished by a frumpy housewife. So many of those unique parts of me that make me Patty Anne seemed to be getting eaten up by the minutia of daily life.
So on this particular Saturday night while my husband was at work and my daughter was in bed, I decided to do something to remind myself that I still have some sizzle left in me. I did my hair, I put on make-up and I put on clothes that in no way implied Mommy. I posed with Mae West to remind myself that there’s a little of her inside of me, a diva that still burns hot no matter my age. I may be a housewife & mom but I still have a lot of fire burning within and
