At 18, I flew half-way around the world to Japan to marry my sailor, Johnny, who was 19. I flew on the first passenger jet ever built, the Boeing 707. The flight took 17 hours, with a stopover in Hawaii. Pictures are me wearing my wedding dress, a newspaper clipping from our local paper and the first photo after we were married. We lived in Japan for 1 1/2 years, when Japan was still a 3rd world country. We were married for 51 years. Johnny earlier died this year.

Di, didn't realize that you husband had passed away. I knew he was ill. Feel so sad for you. Thank God that you had so many wonderful years together. Beautiful page and memories.

Oh, Di! I didn't know you had lost your Johnny. My deepest sympathy! Your layout is very beautiful and your journaling is amazing. I am happy that you lived 51 years together and shared such a romantic story. Thanks for participating on my challenge.
